Enlighten Your Wardrobe For The Holidays
Posted by Mandi | Filed under Bags, Fashion

I am a big fan of bold, over-sized bags. That must be the reason I find Big Buddha’s holiday line of bags so enchanting. The shimmery faux leather and croc and knitted hobos beg you to fill them with all of your holiday season necessities. I love how they are not over the top and gaudy, as some wintery handbags tend to be. All Big Buddha Bags are inexpensive, so it wont make too big of a dent in your holiday fund.
Unfortunately you can only get a hold of these bags via fashion trade shows at a few boutiques, and the occasional website. Not directly off of their site.
As far as I can tell, all of Big Buddha’s bags are vegan. There is no official disclaimer on the site. Just make sure to double check with your seller about a particular bag, before you purchase.
Ruche -Cheap Vintage-Inspired Fashion

Ruche is a fun little online boutique I found via Carly J. Cais’ post on ChicSteals. Ruche is chock full of feminine and flirty dresses, and quirky jewelry. The also have a nice selection of vegan handbags and shoes, and pieces made from organic materials. Ruche is also hella cheap with not one item being under 50%, and shipping is a flat rate of $7. And to add to the cheapness, right now you can get 10% off your order by entering the coupon code CHICSTEALS at checkout.

Green Vintage Purse - This adorable bag is made from a soft faux leather. I like the fact that it looks like a mini duffle bag, and has tons of pockets! (more…)

English Retreads - Born Again Tires
Posted by Mandi | Filed under Bags, Fashion

English Retreads is probably one of the most innovative companies in the eco-conscious fashion world. Heather English started English Retreads in 2001 after she decided that if she wanted a sturdy yet fashionable, vegetarian bag, she would have to make it herself. Each bag is hand crafted using only vegan and recycled materials. Namely, rubber inner tubes. This makes every bag unique due to the different markings on each inner tube. English Retreads also offsets 100% of its carbon emissions from manufaturing, shipping, and even employee commutes!
Holly Aiken Bags
Posted by Mandi | Filed under Bags, Fashion

Holly Aiken bags are like pieces of art on your shoulder. They are retro, funky and eye catching. I love the color contrasts and the simple presentation. These bags are also made out of vinyl, which makes them not only easy to clean, but antimicrobial and antibacterial. They are also mildew and oil resistant. woo-hoo!
If you live in the Raleigh NC area, stop by and check out Holly’s store, Stitch where you can purchase her bag designs as well as artwork from other artists.

Rejuviebags!

Raecyclements is a Orange County based company started by designer Rebecca Molina, that creates handbags and wallets from materials saved from an earth-condemning life in a landfill. This line is called Rejuviebags, and it has a much greater purpose than just fashion.
Made from 100% recycled materials such as juice packs and rice sacks, these bags are created by a women’s fair trade co-op in the Philippines. This enables these women to have fair income, gather working experience, and create amazing works of art. Each bag is hand made and takes almost a full day to create, making each bag one of a kind. Raecyclements also donates percentage of the sales proceeds to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
What better way to save the earth, provide jobs, donate to a good cause, and make a fashion statement!

Tote-ally cute!
Posted by Mandi | Filed under Bags, Fashion
There is nothing I love more than just throwing everything I could ever possibly
need in one big bag and running out the door to face my day. Fruit, a
book, my ipod, a small child.. you name it, it goes in my tote. Vegan totes
are easy finds since they are typically made out of cloth or canvas anyway.
Here are some cute totes I have recently found that have struck my fancy.

I couldn’t help it, this bag makes me giggle.

Say hello to your new favorite handbag. Do you love the look and feel of high end hand bags like Louie Vuitton and Dior, but hate the environmental repercussions and inhumane practices associated with them? Well so was Evelina, the founder of Vegan Queen who after working closely with top fashion designers decided to venture off into her own line of eco-friendly, recyclable, non-toxic, organic, sustainable, cruelty-free bags that are also made in the USA. And did I mention they are totally chic? Check out the Vegan Queen site here.
