As you probably know by now, I am somewhat of a hair-dyeing fan. I cannot stick to a specific color and I am always looking for vegan products that have good color pay off. I have a new addition to share with you: Henna Color Lab.
I have never tried henna before, but my experience with henna was wonderful. I used henna twice, with two very different colors. One was the traditional red henna color and the other was a brown color. With both colors, I had amazing color pay off. Here is what shocked me most:
My hair was not damaged like after bleaching and it was not dry, tangled, and mad at me.
Instead, I had my short hair shiny, vibrant, and soft. I also was surprised to step into the shower and not get to see the color circling the drain, fading, and mellowing out. The colors seemed to be more intense in the sun or under lights, and I got so many compliments on my hair color both times.
There is a wide variety of colors available on the website. Their customer service is awesome; I got a sweet note with my order and an email confirming that the order shipped. Every package came with gloves and a cap—which is a necessity. The henna cools your head a bit, so the cap kept my head warm. The other really neat thing is that you eyeball and guess how much water is needed for the mixture to work for your hair. I have short hair, so I did not need much. A quarter of the powder and some water mixed together, and then bam, I had a completely different and beautiful hair color that lasted without fading or causing any damage to my hair.
