Superfood. It’s pretty hard to go a day or two without stumbling across that word, isn’t it? We read about the latest superfoods and what they can do to help us get stronger, smarter and healthier. We want to do the right thing and take care of ourselves, but where do we begin? How do we know we are getting good quality ingredients?
BõKU® Super Food can help. Founder and CEO Lynn M. Rolle, was on a mission to find natural alternatives to help heal her son, who was diagnosed with a focus problem. Like any dedicated mother, she didn’t stop until she found her answers and those answers were in superfoods. As a businesswoman by trade, Lynn was able to use this knowledge to launch BõKU®.
BõKU® offers a broad product line. For basic snacks, you can select from Super Cacao Nibs (slightly sweetened with coconut palm sugar) and Super Golden Berries. I love cacao nibs, and I mixed some of these in my granola for a bit of extra crunch. The berries I ate right out of the bag. They were soft and chewy, and I loved the tartness. As a lifelong raisin fan, I’ve found a new favorite. I’m addicted.
Super Shrooms is a blend of 20 mushrooms. The powder can be added to sauces or soups to give you and extra boost.
On to the drinks. Starting with my favorite, Super Protein. Made from sprouted rice protein, cranberry protein and dulse red algae, one scoop in your favorite smoothie adds 19 grams of protein and a generous dose of calcium, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. This was a nice change from my usual protein powder and I loved that it was sweetened with dehydrated maple syrup.
Maca is said to increase strength and endurance (among other things). It seems to be a love-hate superfood. Since I fall on the love side, I was excited to try the Super Maca. It didn’t disappoint. You don’t need much to reap the benefits. Other products include Super Fuel, which is designed for athletes, and the namesake Super Food, a blend of fruits, vegetables, probiotics and enzymes.
BõKU® products are vegan certified, USDA organic, kosher and gluten-free. This is really good stuff. One lucky Chic Vegan reader can find out how good by entering the drawing below to win a 9-ounce package of Super Food. US residents only, please Good luck and enjoy! BõKU® may contact contest entrants in the future.

The superfood label seems to be applied to a new food every week. Since I began eating kale and chia seeds about 3 years ago they are my favorites, though I do love goji berries and maca (not my favorite taste but it does seem to give me added energy). This sounds like an awesome company; great giveaway!
