I was thrilled to receive a few samples of Arbor Teas brand loose leaf teas to review. I was at first impressed by the organic certification that all their teas come with, and the fair-trade certification that most of their teas come with. I am a huge proponent of fair trade certification and as it turns out the only teas that Arbor Teas do not carry the certification for are the ones that do not offer it.
The organic mark of approval is also a huge bonus in my eyes, and I was very pleased that the company ensures that their teas are thus certified.
Upon closer research into Arbor Teas I learned that they also use backyard compostable packaging for the teas and that they have teamed up with CarbonFund.org, making their business responsible for their environmental impact by utilizing green energy, reforestation, energy efficiency and sustainability.
All in all, Arbor Teas offers their customers organic, fair trade teas using green energy and sustainability business practices. Being aware of their customers’ and the environment’s needs are practices I hope all companies will embrace, sooner rather than later.
Arbor Teas seems to have their feet firmly planted on the ground regarding their ethical and social business responsibilities.
What about the teas? I sampled Wu Yi, Thai Iced Tea, Coconut Rooibos, Assam Tonganagoan, Ginger Chili Tisane and Plum. I was told that these are some of the more popular flavors and I understand why. The quality of the teas are exceptional and flavors are top notch. The flavor and aroma of coconut in the Coconut Rooibos and the chili in Ginger Chili Tisane is not just part of the name – they are prevalent flavors in the teas.
The first that hits your senses upon opening one of the tea packages is the heady aroma. Once brewed, the teas are robust and full of flavor. This is exactly what one expects in an amazing cup of tea.
When you look at the tea leaves, you can see that they are whole leaves and pieces of fruits and berries – these are fresh and vibrant ingredients.
The website itself is a wealth of information, complete with how to lessons on how to brew the perfect cup of tea, how to make chai latte, how to make matcha, even how to make kombucha!
November is Arbor Tea’s 10 Year Anniversary and they are celebrating with promotions and giveaways. To keep ahead of the happening over at Arbor Teas make sure to check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
