I have been trying A LOT of eco-friendly laundry products lately and it pains me to say that there have been more suds duds than I would care to admit. I have tried washer balls, powders, liquids, dryer balls, reusable dryer sheets, you name it (most of which is now tucked into a corner of my laundry room and will probably never be used again). Some of the products did a great job cleaning my garments, but they didn’t leave my laundry smelling fresh, and others had a wonderful fragrance, but the clothes did not come-out clean.
I am sure there are great eco-friendly powder detergents out there, however my particular washer does not work well with them (The dispenser seems to get gooped-up which is no fault of the detergent, just a flaw with my washer).
So I am really excited to report that I finally found Roux Maison which is an eco-friendly liquid laundry detergent that actually does a great job cleaning my clothes and smells great! I have been using it for the past two weeks and my laundry comes out clean AND smelling great.
My favorite fragrance is the Sweet Tea, though I have also tried the Ambrosia and like that as well. I have been using the Essential Detergent for all of my regular laundry and tried the Fragrance- Free Delicate Detergent as well with great results.

I use soap nuts, which you can throw in your laundry in a little pouch (like a fabric tea bag) and then in the dryer as fabric softener. And they’re compostable as well.
