Scrumptious Sweet Potato Recipes

October 26, 2009 By Mandi

I just harvested a boat-load of sweet potatoes from the garden a few weeks ago. Now they are all cured and washed and ready for some eatin! The only problem is that baking these suckers gets a little old after a while. Surprisingly, sweet potatoes are incredibly diverse foods that taste great in hearty entrees as well as sweet succulent desserts.

Don’t let their sugary demeanor fool you, sweet potatoes are also great for you! They are jam packed with Vitamin A (Beta Carotene), Vitamin C, Potassium and Iron. They are powerful antioxidants and also serve as an anti-inflammatory.

Here are some unique and delicious sweet potato dishes I have come across.  Enjoy!

Wow that food looks amazing. I’m totally stocking up on sweet potatoes next time I go grocery shopping. And how cool that you grew them yourself. I’ve always wanted to have my own garden and grow my own organic food. By the way, I really like your blog. I was wondering if you would want to link.

Thanks Kandace! Sweet potatoes are super easy to grow but you do need a lot of space. I just moved into a house this year with a yard for the first time ever! So naturally I went nuts growing food. I love your blog as well, I actually stumbled on it a few months ago. The boots you just posted are killer! You are now a fantastic ethical link <3

What a fantastic recipe collection. I need to cook and bake with sweet potatoes more often.
